Advent Offering

On Sunday, December 10, we will be collecting an offering during our Sunday services. Please be prayerful as you consider what to give, and pray for our leaders as we consider the next steps God has for us. Read the letter below from Lead Pastor Mark Arant to learn more about the vision behind the offering!

Veritas Church -

In the Fall of 2021, our elder team was trying to figure out how to navigate a challenge before us as a church. It was a pleasant kind of challenge.

We were coming through COVID-19 stronger than ever. We had more people attending, getting saved, baptized, connected, and discipled than ever before. We were shocked that after many had predicted an "economic ice age," our budget was still strong. We were also looking at our 3-year-old building (at the time), and seeing that we were already outgrowing the space for worship, kids classes, and equipping . Through a difficult time, God was still on the move.

So this was the challenge before our elders: How do we best prepare Veritas for the future and any steps of faith that God might have for us?

The answer seemed obvious: eliminate our debt to clear the way for what God had for us next.

We decided that the best way to do this would be to take an offering over the next three Advent seasons (2021, 2022 and 2023), while also building aggressive mortgage payments into our annual budget. At the time of the first offering, we had $3.5 million remaining on our mortgage. I'm excited to share that going into this final offering, that number is now down to just under $1.5 million!

We are truly in awe of our God and the generosity of His people. This Sunday, as we finish what we set out to do, let's bring our offerings with an eager expectation of what God might do through us. How is He going to use us to shine the brightness of Jesus Christ into this present darkness?

I can't wait to see what He has for us.

Lead on, oh King Eternal!

- Mark (for the Veritas elders)

We encourage you to bring your gift with you to church on Sunday, where we will collect the offering during worship. If possible, we suggest that you write a check rather than bring cash, and write "Advent Offering" in the memo line.

You can also give online throughout the month of December.
